With so much sound to work with and so many possibilities, I decided to set some limits. I used only 2 audio tracks (the full stereo live-streams), and just 2 tracks of my DAW, placing one in each. The track is made by cutting up and sometimes re-pitching parts of these two: hour 14 (Glyn Roberts) and hour 15 (Super Group) - the title "Super Roberts" reflects this combination of sources.
I wanted to stay largely true to the original acoustics, but added a little reverb and delay to Glyn Roberts and some panning to the Super Group percussive sounds to give a more immersive sense of space. The genre is broadly beats / instrumental hiphop - probably the most over-done / over-attempted production genre on earth, but an interesting departure for me personally as it's the first track I have attempted in this style - I usually work more in a fast experimental club music zone.
